


Cake Decorating 101 - April 28
You’re sitting at home watching a quick 3 minute video showing how you TOO can easily decorate a cake. You decide to give it a try only to discover there is sooo much more than meets the eye. Well, here’s your chance to REALLY learn all the in’s and out’s of cake decorating.
April 28, 6pm-8:30pm, 501 E 3rd St, Big Spring TX.
In this class you will learn: What to do with the cake layers after they are baked, how to level cake layers, the perfect frosting consistency for cake decorating, types of frostings and their differences, how to fill and stack the cake layers, crumb coat and what it is for, frosting a smooth finish cake, 2 cake borders, and tips for writing on a cake.
This class is perfect for a true beginner but contains so much information that even a seasoned veteran is sure to learn something new.
This class is for individuals age 14+. No children are allowed due to some tools that will be in use. All classes require standing the entire time. Chairs are available for those in need of a break from time to time. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing and be aware they may get dirty. A water bottle/beverage is also recommended. If weather prohibits our scheduled class a new date will be scheduled or students will be issued credit towards another class of their choosing in the future. Space is limited.
Provided with class: Cake, buttercream, paper towels, piping tips and piping bags, box for cake.
Required tools (not provided): Cake decorating turntable or lazy susan and an offset spatula (preferably a long one). A decorating kit is available on this website and if purchased will be brought to class for you.
